Happy Soul Food Friday!
This week:
Have you found your thrill on blueberry hill?
This often entails living life on the edge but that edge can mean different things to different people
One way is to lean forward and give back– Here is a great honor for Mission Fed, the double bottom line organization I have had the privilege to serve with community engagement for the last 11 years. We ARE judged by the company we keep!
Not edgy enough for you?
Another way is to never look down and stay in the present
If this doesn’t get your adrenaline going, you have nerves of steel!
Too edgy?
Maybe it is time to pamper the heck out of yourself and indulge in first class treatment of your own making!
Here is one person’s first class experience…
For everything there is a season and it is important to know when to extend ourselves for others, when to stay the course and stay fearlessly rooted in the present, and when to let our hair down, love ourselves and enjoy some indulgences.
Love,
Neville
Lean Forward and Give Back:
“Philanthropic Corporation of the Year”
Each fall, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) San Diego Chapter gathers civic leaders, volunteers, and philanthropists from throughout our region to celebrate the spirit of philanthropy at a National Philanthropy Day luncheon. Over the last 41 years, this luncheon has become the premier event for San Diego’s most committed philanthropists and community leaders to join together and honor their own. Last year more than 1,000 people participated in the celebration. Please be a part of our special event, which will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2013, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. National Philanthropy Day awards are going on throughout the country on this same day so we are part of a national and global community. November 7th will mark the 41st Anniversary of the San Diego Association of Fundraising Professionals National Philanthropy Day celebration and awards luncheon. This year, Mission Fed is extremely honored to be the recipient of the prestigious and highly sought-after “Philanthropic Corporation of the Year” Award. We were nominated for this award by our community partners- how cool is that! This is the only awards event of its kind in SD, and it is a HUGE deal in the corporate philanthropic community, so way to go Mission Fed!

Not edgy enough for you?
This should curb your need for adrenaline!

Pamper yourself and indulge in first class treatment of your own making
Have you ever REALLY flown First Class?
Thanks this week to committed citizens in the social sector everywhere, risk takers that are willing to set new limits of what is possible, and those of us who know how to love ourselves deeply!
Love & Happiness for you and yours…
