Why Underdogs Can Win If They Realize They Are NOT Underdogs:
‘How did you become such a successful lawyer in spite of this disability?’ And he said, ‘not in spite, I became a successful lawyer because of this so-called disability.’
Are You Often in Awe of the Amazing Productivity of Some People?
They accomplish remarkable things within the same 24 hours that everyone else has to work with. Do you rationalize their success by convincing yourself that they have staff, or were born exceedingly brilliant?

One Social Entrepreneur’s Modeling the Way for A Cause He Cares About And Rides 1170 Miles For Challenged Athletes Foundation
From my friend Bob B.
Just a quick update on my CAF Million Dollar Challenge quest.
Bags are packed, GPS loaded with the route, bike’s are lubed, tires are pumped and the weather looks… well, like fall weather.
This Sunday, Cody Stevenson from Holland Cycles and I set off northbound from Santa Barbara on what will ultimately be a 550 mile northbound adventure to San Francisco to join up with my Million Dollar Challenge brethren for the 620 miles ride south back to San Diego. Cody and I will be lonely on the way up, fighting the inevitable headwind, and some pretty awesome mountain passes, since we’ll be taking the more difficult path through the coastal range.
I re-energized my blog, so should you actually want to follow along and see how we’re doing, you can check out some pics, twitter posts, etc. from the road all in one spot at: http://www.gliderking.com

With the Garmin GPS unit on my handlebar, it will send an update that will allow real time tracking and each day you can get tired watching our progress. There also a link to send beer and pieces of pie. No really, it’s gonna be awesome. But you must tune into the blog page to get these updates.
Meanwhile, I wanted to thank everyone for their incredible support. You don’t just roll out of bed and ride 1170 miles for Challenged Athletes Foundation. You need some help along the way. Darcy has been my rock and support to help make this happen. I could never have done this without convincing her that I was not having a midlife crisis. Coach Rob Panzera from Cycling Camp San Diego (http://ccsd.com) took a fat overweight racer and helped get me in the best shape of my life over the past couple of years. Bill Holland (http://hollandcycles.com) built me the most awesome custom bike on the planet that is perfectly suited to my riding style, and that was in the 80’s. My new bike is even more awesome!
But it’s the money I helped raise for CAF with your help that matters most. Thank you so much for believing in me, and that I can do this and for supporting CAF. The organization is amazing group of people who every day make the impossible happen. All the money we raised, over $26,000! goes directly to the programs of Challenged Athletes and not into my outrageous cycling budget!
Thank you again for your support. It’s never too late to add a bit of icing on the cake, so the donation link is below. I did up the my fundraising goal to $27,000 btw. I’ll hopefully send a mid-ride email update! Stay tuned!
